Book Review – Juliet, written by Anne Fortier

Motives vary for wanting to know about one’s past, but hoping to be descended from royalty is a common one. One recent television show looked into an Ontario woman’s claim that her family actually is the rightful owner of Nova Scotia. The program confirmed that her family had a significant role in the history of that province, but she seemed disappointed that she was not going to be crowned queen of it.  That sort of fairy-tale desire is the type explored in Anne Fortier’s latest novel, Juliet, a mix of Shakespeare and contemporary romantic-comedy fun, making it the perfect escapist read.
